Laser distance meter

Block diagram

Overview

Our integrated circuits and reference designs help you design laser distance meter systems that capture light-to-bits and back and allow for measurement of nanosecond pulses to enable precise distance calculations at long distances.

Design requirements

Modern laser distance meter designs often require:

  • Low-noise transimpedance (I-to-V) stages to interface with modern photo diodes.
  • Precise, high-speed data conversion for measuring narrow laser pulses to achieve high-distance accuracy.
  • Low jitter clocking to provide accurate timing for high-accuracy measurement.
