Wired communication modules

Block diagram

Our integrated circuits and reference designs help you design reliable and size-optimized isolated or non-isolated wired communication modules with multiple low-speed serial and high-speed Ethernet/USB interfaces. The use of fiber interfaces and digital-isolator-based interfaces improve the communication reliability and reduce failures during exposure to high levels of external transients.

Design requirements

Modern wired communication modules often require:

  • Integration of UARTs, USB and Ethernet MAC supporting MII, SGMII, RGMII and MDIO for creating low- and high-speed interfaces.
  • Low power, reliable and flexible data rate transceivers with higher EMC immunity.
  • Dual/quad communication expanders for RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces.
  • Electrically-isolated interfaces for harsh and high-voltage environments.
