Description for the TPS274160

The TPS274160 is an industrial smart high-side switch with four integrated 160-mΩ NMOSpower FETs. The device offers robust protection and full diagnostics to drive off-board inductive,capacitive, or resistive loads. The device enables flexible, multi-channel output configurationsthrough paralleling channels and is in a very small WQFN package to enable usage in spaceconstrained applications.

The device is protected against short circuit events and over-temperature events, safelyshutting off the output during fault events. An external adjustable current limit improves thereliability of the system by actively limiting inrush or overload current, ensuring that the outputcurrent does not impact the supply rail and cause system brownouts or other failures.

The device also integrates diagnostic features like output current monitoring and openload detection to allow for improved intelligence in modules and enable predictive maintenancefunctionality. Accurate current measurement or fault notification ensures systems, depending on thedevice variant, give the ability for systems to quickly diagnose and fix any modulefailures.
