The ADS5483EVM is a circuit board which allows the designer to run an evaluation of Texas Instruments’ ADS5483 device, a 16-bit 135 MSPS ADC with DDR LVDS outputs. With the supplied logic analyzer breakout board, the ADC LVDS output can be directly captured using either an Agilent E5405A or Tektronix P6980 touchless probe. The ADS5483EVM is also compatible to TI’s TSW1400EVM or TSW1405EVM High Speed LVDS evaluation and capture system, allowing samples to be captured and passed to a PC for rapid analysis and evaluation.

The ADS5483EVM also includes Texas Instrument’s new 10 Output Low Jitter Clock Synchronizer and Jitter Cleaner device, the CDCE72010, which can be used to drive the clocking input to the ADS5483. Open sockets are provided for an external VCXO and crystal band pass filter allowing for rapid evaluation of a combined high performance ADC and clocking circuit equivalent to a final system level solution. Alternatively an external clock source can be provided to the EVM and either routed through the CDCE72010 or passed directly to the ADS5483 clock input.
