This BoosterPack RF reference design, featuring the SimpleLink™ Wi-Fi® CC3100 internet-on-a-chip solution, was designed to enable Internet of Things (IoT) applications when paired with any microcontroller unit (MCU). This embedded Wi-Fi solution is the next generation of SimpleLink Wi-Fi products that dramatically simplifies the implementation of internet connectivity. The CC3100 device is an ideal solution for embedded applications using low-cost and low-power microcontrollers with reduced board space and faster development times. CC3100 minimizes host MCU software requirements and is the ideal solution for embedded applications using any low-cost/low-power MCU including MSP430™ and more. Additionally, CC3100 is a complete platform solution including software drivers, sample applications, API guide, user documentation, and a world-class support community.

  • 802.11 b/g/n station with fully integrated radio, baseband, and MAC
  • Auto-calibrated radio with a single-ended 50-Ω interface enables easy connection to the antenna without requiring expertise in radio circuit design
  • Advanced Wi-Fi connection manager with no host processor involvement
