Overview

A SEPIC converter is used to charge a load capacitor (up to 15000uF) up to 400V/420V (selectable). The input voltage range is 15V +/-10% and the constant output charging current 80mA. The multiplied SEPIC topology has several advantages compared to Boost + charge pump mainly thanks to reduce peak and RMS currents in the multiplier of the SEPIC.

Features
  • Huge voltage ratio possible by multiplied single-stage SEPIC (15Vin to 420Vout)
  • No spikes on switch-nodes compared to flyback solution
  • Good efficiency curve between 50Vout and 420Vout in the range of 80% to 87%
  • Two active loops:  CV and CC avoid overvoltage in case of load disconnection
