Description

This magnetic-free (no transformer/inductor), small form-factor, LED driver circuit is ideal for use in LED lamps, downlights, and fixtures.  The design takes advantage of relatively new high forward-voltage (22V), low-current (20mA) white LEDs to realize a compact design producing >800 lumens from about 9W of input power.  The novel floating switch architecture produces low LED current ripple comparable to single-stage SMPS based designs while providing excellent compatability with a wide range of common household wall dimmers.

Features
  • 6-7W LED output power, >800 Lumens
  • Operates with forward (TRIAC) and reverse-phase wall dimmers
  • Power factor corrected > 0.9
  • Low LED current ripple
  • Low conducted EMI, no radiated EMI
