TIPD129

0-1A, Single-Supply, Low-Side, Current Sensing Solution

TIPD129

Design files

Overview

This TI Verified Design implements a single-supply, low-side current sensing solution that can accurately detect load current from 0-1A.  The corresponding linear output range is from 0V to 4.9V. This design relies on the LM7705 inverting charge pump to bias the negative supply of the OPA320 to -0.23V. This setup extends the linear output range of the amplifier below 0V.  The circuit's linear operation across the entire 0-1A input range enables calibrated performance to within ±0.003% error.

Features
  • 0 - 1 A Current Sense
  • 0 to 4.9 V Output
  • Single-Supply Solution
  • ±0.003% FSR Error (calibrated)
  • ±0.0002% Zero Scale Error (calibrated)
