Documentation

SimpleLink CC13X2 26X2 SDK Documentation

What's new

Bluetooth 5.1 (BLE5-Stack)

  • The BLE5-Stack has been Bluetooth 5.1 qualified with the angle of arrival direction finding feature.

Zigbee (TI Z-Stack)

  • Example projects for CC2652RB SimpleLink™ crystal-less BAW wireless MCU have been integrated into the SDK.

Thread (TI-OpenThread)

  • Example projects for CC2652RB SimpleLink™ crystal-less BAW wireless MCU have been integrated into the SDK.

Dynamic Multi-protocol Manager (DMM)

  • System configuration (SysConfig) can now be used to configure both the RF stacks and the DMM software component.
  • The DMM scheduler has been updated to use a global priority table. This makes the DMM easier to configure and gives the user higher degree of control.
  • DMM examples with Bluetooth LE OAD capability allows you to update the whole firmware image over the air (using Bluetooth LE).
  • Added support for Bluetooth 5 features such as PHY switching and advertisement extensions in all DMM examples.

System Configuration Tool (SysConfig)

  • This is the first production ready version of the system configuration tool (SysConfig). SysConfig is now the default tool to set up the RF protocol stack and the HW configuration (CCFG, etc). SysConfig greatly simplifies the process of moving SDK example from a TI evaluation board to custom HW.

TI LaunchPad SensorTag Kit (LPSTK)

  • A Bluetooth Low Energy multi-sensor “out of box” example for the soon to be released LaunchPad SensorTag Kit (LPSTK-CC1352R) has been added. Additionally, the TI-15.4 BLE5-Stack DMM Remote Display example has been extended to support the extra on-board sensors featured on the LPSTK. These include ambient light sensor, temperature/humidity sensor, hall effect sensor and 3-axis accelerometer. The LPSTK is a great way for developers to evaluate the multi-band and multi-protocol capabilities of the SimpleLink CC1352R device in a unique battery-operated, fully-enclosed form factor. Note that all LAUNCHXL-CC1352R examples will work on the LPSTK-CC1352R kit as they are pin compatible and feature the same CC1352R MCU.

Radio Software Library

  • The radio driver and other radio software components are now found in the radio software library (rflib).

Added device support for the SimpleLink CC2652P Multiprotocol 2.4 GHz Wireless MCU with Integrated Power Amplifier. All CC1352P 2.4 GHz-only (e.g., BLE5-Stack, Zigbee, Thread, etc.) example projects are compatible with the CC2652P. Refer to the included migration guide.

Updated CoreSDK component to version 4.30.00.32. The CoreSDK is comprised of the TI-RTOS SYS/BIOS kernel, DriverLib and TI Drivers.

Refer to the Document Overview for the individual release notes and details for starting development with each SDK component

Refer to the included Change Log for a summary of new features and fixed issues since the last SDK release

Release Information

The SimpleLink™ CC13x2 and CC26x2 Software Development Kit (SDK) delivers components that enable engineers to develop applications on the Texas Instruments SimpleLink CC13x2 and CC26x2 family of wireless microcontrollers (MCUs). This software toolkit provides a cohesive and consistent software experience for all SimpleLink CC13x2 and CC26x2 wireless MCU users by packaging essential software components, such as a Bluetooth® Low Energy (BLE) protocol stack supporting Bluetooth 5.1, Thread 1.1 networking stack based on OpenThread, Zigbee 3.0 compliant protocol suite, RF-Proprietary examples, TI’s 15.4 Stack as well as the TI-RTOS kernel and TI Drivers in one easy-to-use software package along with example applications and documentation. In addition, the Dynamic Multi-Protocol Manager (DMM) software component enables multiprotocol development on a single SimpleLink wireless MCU through time division multiplexing.

The SimpleLink MCU portfolio offers a single development environment that delivers flexible hardware, software and tool options for customers developing wired and wireless applications. With 100 percent code reuse across host MCUs, Wi-Fi™, Bluetooth Low Energy, Sub-1GHz devices and more, choose the MCU or connectivity standard that fits your design. A one-time investment with the SimpleLink software development kit allows you to reuse often, opening the door to create unlimited applications. For more information, visit www.ti.com/simplelink.
