Optimizing solution size and reducing complexity in Dual-Battery 12V/48V mHEV Power Supplies

00:07:29 | 01 MAR 2019

The development of AEC-Q100 switching power supplies with wider input voltage ranges and battery-friendly features is being catalyzed by the increasing prevalence of hybrid-electric vehicles.  In this lab demonstration, we take a closer look at how to eliminate intermediate power rail risks with co-existing 12V and 48V battery power systems, while simultaneously simplifying power supply design and reducing solution size.  This mild hybrid system is also optimized for low quiescent current and wide operating temperature, and showcases the LM5164-Q1 100V, 1A synchronous buck converter and the LM5180-Q1 70V PSR flyback converter.
