Light Load Switching Mode Selection (MODE Pin)

The light load switching mode is selected based on the state of the MODE pin. If the MODE pin voltage is less than 0.4 V (VMODE-FALLING) or floating, the device is configured to diode emulation (DE) mode. If the MODE pin voltage is greater than 2.0 V (VMODE-RISING) or connected to VCC, the device is configured to forced PWM (FPWM) mode. The light load switching mode can be dynamically changed between DE and FPWM mode during operation. If the MODE pin is left floating the default light load switching mode is DE mode.
