Power Supply Recommendations

The LP8861-Q1 device is designed to operate from a car battery. The device should be protected from reverse voltage polarity and voltage dump over 50 V. The resistance of the input supply rail must be low enough so that the input current transient does not cause too high drop at the LP8861-Q1 VIN pin. If the input supply is connected by using long wires additional bulk capacitance may be required in addition to the ceramic bypass capacitors in the VIN line.
