(1) The device regulates the supply with an internal Zener diode. The device sinks up to 3 mA with the added supply current. See
Equation 5 to find appropriate value for the R
S resistor.
(2) The maximum input voltage of the device depends on the clamping voltage of the internal Zener diode, which changes over temperature. A current-limiting resistor is required to limit current to the Zener diode if the input voltage (V
IN) is greater than V
