8-12Vin to 6Vout/1A Isolated Reference Design

PMP10801

Design files

Overview

This design uses the TPS54335 to provide an isolated 6V at 1A from a 12V source for noise sensitive systems.  The topology used is a synchronous buck-boost with an auxilliary winding on the inductor.  A 1MHz switching frequency minimizes the size of this design. This supply achieves a peak efficiency of near 79%.

Features
  • Primary Side Regulation eliminates optocoupler and reduces cost
  • 1MHz switching frequency reduces overall size
  • Diode emulation allows DCM operation, improving light load efficiency
