Description

This design is for a 16-bit, 8-channel analog input module for industrial programmable logic controller (PLC) systems. The circuit is realized with an 8-channel, 16-bit, successive-approximation-register (SAR), analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an integrated precision reference and analog front-end (AFE) circuit.

Features
  • Voltage Input Range : +/- 10V, 0-10V, +/-5V, 0-5V
  • Current Input Range : +/- 20mA, 0-20mA, 4-20mA
  • 4 wire RTD Temperature Range : -40 to 160 °C
  • Single Supply operation
  • Overall Accuracy achieved: 0.1 % for voltage and current inputs & 0.25% for temperature input
