Stability

Though ATL431LI-Q1 is stable with no capacitive load, the device that receives the output voltage of the shunt regulator can present a capacitive load that is within the ATL431LI-Q1 region of stability, shown in Figure 13. Also, designers can use capacitive loads to improve the transient response or for power supply decoupling. When using additional capacitance between Cathode and Anode, see Figure 13.
