7.4.2.4 Minimum On-Time

Minimum on-time refers to the minimum amount of time the high side MOSFET can turn on. The LMR60420-Q1 regulates the output voltage even if the input-to-output voltage ratio requires an on-time less than the minimum on-time, tON-MIN, for the given frequency setting. The LMR60420-Q1 accomplishes this by folding back the switching frequency to support the same input-to-output voltage ratio while maintaining an on-time of tON-MIN. The LMR60420-Q1 can support a minimum on-time of 30ns (typical). Use Equation 7 to estimate the on-time for a given operating condition.
