Figure 8-7 and Figure 8-8 show example response curves of the device for a rectangular cut out hole as shown in Figure 8-14. The shape of the cutout affects the overall light collection and the field of view can clearly be seen.
The human eye matching of the OPT4001-Q1 PicoStarTM package is seen in Figure 5-3; this photopic response determines the sensor capability of reporting accurate light intensity readings across lighting conditions. The device response over angle is illustrated in Figure 5-5. Both curves are affected when the sensor is integrated at the system level. Please refer to the Ambient Light Sensor Application Guide for more details on system-level design considerations.
