Typical Application

The device integrates a 45 kΩ pull-up resistor and series diode for responder node applications. For commander applications an external 1 kΩ pull-up resistor with series blocking diode can be used. Figure 9-1 shows the device being used in both commander mode and responder mode applications.

If RXD on MCU on LIN responder node has internal pull-up, no external pull-up resistor is needed.
If RXD on MCU on LIN responder node does not have an internal pull-up, requires external pull-up resistor.
Commander node applications require and external 1 kΩ pull-up resistor and serial diode.
Decoupling capacitor values are system dependent but usually have 100 nF, 1 µF and ≥ 10 µF.
