Pin Functions

PIN I/O DESCRIPTION
NAME NO.
DNC 7 Do not connect. Do not route this pin to any electrical net, not even GND or IN.
EN 5 I This pin turns the regulator on or off. If VEN ≥ VEN(+HI, min) or VEN ≤ VEN(–HI, max), the regulator is enabled. If VEN(+LO, max) ≥ VEN ≥ VEN(–LO, min), the regulator is disabled.
The EN pin can be connected to IN, if not used. |VEN| ≤ |VIN|.
FB 2 I This pin is the feedback pin that sets the output voltage of the device.
GND 4 Ground
IN 8 I Input supply
NC 3 Not internally connected. This pin must either be left open or tied to GND.
NR/SS 6 Noise reduction pin. Connecting an external capacitor to this pin filters the noise generated by the internal band gap. This capacitor allows RMS noise to be reduced to very low levels and also controls the soft-start function.
OUT 1 O Regulator output. A capacitor ≥ 2.2 µF must be tied from this pin to ground to ensure stability.
PowerPAD Must either be left open or tied to GND.
Solder to printed-circuit-board (PCB) plane to enhance thermal performance.
