Data Format

The ADS1283 output data is 32-bits in binary twos complement format, as shown in Table 16. The LSB of the data is a redundant sign bit: 0 for positive numbers and 1 for negative numbers. However, when the output is clipped to +FS, the LSB = 1, and when the output is clipped to –FS, the LSB = 0. If desired, the data readback can be stopped at 24 bits. Note that in sinc-filter mode, the output data are scaled by ½.

  2. Due to the reduction in oversampling ratio (OSR) related to high data rates of the sinc filter, full resolution may not be available.
