Adjustable Device Feedback Resistor Selection

The adjustable-version device requires external feedback divider resistors to set the output voltage. VOUT is set using the feedback divider resistors, R1 and R2, according to the following equation:

Equation 3. VOUT = VADJ × (1 + R1 / R2)

VADJ (or VFB) is the feedback voltage and refers to the voltage on the ADJ pin. During normal operation of the

adjustable device, the devices regulates such that VADJ is equal to the device's internal reference voltage.

To ignore the ADJ pin current error term in the VOUT equation, set the feedback divider current to 100x the ADJ pin current (IADJ) listed in the Electrical Characteristics table. This setting provides the maximum feedback divider series resistance, as shown in the following equation:
