Protection Specifications

The TVS4000 is specified according to the IEC 61000-4-5 standard. The IEC 61000-4-5 standards requires protection against a pulse with a rise time of 8µs and a half length of 20µs.

The TVS4000 has been tested according to IEC 61000-4-5 to pass a ±1kV surge test through a 42Ω coupling resistor and a 0.5µF capacitor. This test is a common test requirement for industrial signal I/O lines and the TVS4000 serves a protection solution for applications with the requirement.

The TVS4000 also integrates IEC 61000-4-2 level 4 ESD Protection. These combine so the device can protect against most transient conditions regardless of length or type.
