BQSTUDIO
If using BQSTUDIO and either the EV2400 or EV2500 communication box, use the
following steps to set up the EVM testing software:
- Connect the EV2400 or EV2500 to the PC with BQSTUDIO installed on it using the USB cable.
- Connect the EV2400 or EV2500 to the EVM using the 4-pin Molex cable.
- Launch BQSTUDIO and select "Charger" from the first splash screen.
- On the second splash screen, select
Charger_1_00-BQ25692-Q1 from the
list of available BQZ files.
- On the last screen, while you can use either the Default View tab or the
Field View tab, the Field View gives a more concise view.
TI-CHARGER-GUI
If using TI-CHARGER-GUI and USB2ANY communication box, use the following steps to set
up the EVM testing software:
- Connect the USB2ANY box to the EVM using the 10-pin ribbon cable. If using the
EV2400, a USB-A to USB-B cable is included for connecting the USB2ANY box to the
PC. If using the EV2500, the USB-A to USB-C cable is not included but is
required to connect the USB2ANY box to the PC.
- Launch TI-CHARGER-GUI from the website.
- Either type in search box or scroll down to find BQ25692-Q1.
- Find the page of interest using the icons on the left of the page:
- rocket - quick start with most common registers needed to start battery
charging
- IC - entire chip level
settings like EN_CHG, EN_REV, EN_HIZ, EN_PFM, etc
- plug - all forward/charge mode register settings
- lightning bolt - all reverse/OTG mode register settings
- bell - status and fault registers (fault registers clear after being
read)
