Autonomous cars have gone from being something confined to futuristic sci-fi TV and movies to something we see tested on the roads today. There is still a lot of work to be done before fully autonomous cars are ready for the mass market, but today’s technology is helping cars begin to progress through the Society of Automotive Engineers’ (SAE) levels of autonomy⁽¹⁾.

CES 2018 has showcased many of these technologies this week, and our TI team is highlighting the capabilities of our latest Jacinto™ automotive processors, including our newest Jacinto TDA2P processor family. Here are a few of this year’s “what’s next” highlights from the show floor:
