Supporting customers with geopolitically dependable capacity

With a robust global manufacturing footprint, Texas Instruments (TI) is able to support customers with geopolitically dependable capacity in any environment.

Our ability to source technologies and products from multiple sites has been a cornerstone of our manufacturing strategy for decades, and allows us to move flows between locations, often times without needing to requalify products. Given this, we are pleased to offer specialized manufacturing flows that aim to mitigate customers’ supply chain risk and cost implications in the ever-changing geopolitical environment. Customers may consider the following details for TI products being imported into specific countries.

Products based on specialized manufacturing flows

Suffix
Description
.A Alternate part numbers with a “.A” suffix use a wafer fabricated in the U.S. and can be imported into the U.S. without potential future tariff impact.
.B Alternate part numbers with a “.B” suffix can be imported into China without potential future tariff impact.
TI may offer additional suffixes in the future, to offer unique manufacturing location flows.

What to consider when choosing a specialized flow

  • These specialized flows are offered as alternate part numbers (APNs) within our existing portfolio, to mitigate future potential tariff impact.
  • Tariff impact is based in part on the determination of country of origin (COO), which reflects the origin criteria in accordance with law, including relevant trade agreements under which member countries agree to recognize specific origination criteria such as regional value content (RVC).
  • Some products with specialized flows have an associated cost premium, and come with an extended change order window (COW) of either 42 days (for products that have a published 14- or 42-day COW) or 91 days (for products that have a published 91-day COW).
  • Specialized product flows are available for TI’s direct customers to purchase through our backlog channel, and will soon be available through our authorized distributors.
  • At the time of shipment, TI will include relevant documentation, including, for example, a preferential Certificate of Origin issued by local trade officials supporting COO.
  • If a tariff is due for any reason upon importation to the specified country, the customer may reject the order and work with TI on shipment-specific options for a return.*
