TI -- opening new windows of opportunity for tomorrow's PC platforms
Texas Instruments is your most important semiconductor partner when you're developing next-generation designs. Not only does TI have the "inside track" on the Windows® platforms, we have co-developed many of the standards you'll need to adopt to attain leadership in your market space.
Whether your focus is on designing for broadband connectivity, mobile connectivity, state-of-the-art consumer electronics, low-cost or power managed platforms, TI has the technical expertise, the development tools and the products you need to be successful.
Highlights
PCI
Texas Instruments will be showing the PCI4450, our latest innovation in Cardbus controller and IEEE-1394a Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI) integrated into a single chip. By combining Cardbus and 1394, TI has significantly reduced the space, power, and PCI bus-loading required for implementing leading-edge mobile platforms.
ADSL Solutions
TI's Broadband Access Group demonstration combines high band-width Digital Subscriber Loop (DSL) technology with low cost high-speed
10 Mbps Ethernet solutions. TI's solutions are suitable for residential or SOHO environments and allow for valuable networked applications including voice, video and data without additional wiring or installation costs.
1394
One of the many 1394 demonstrations will show the functioning of a prototype device bay controller by TI (TDBC2400). This controller is USB-based, and provides the logic to operate the remote device bay, USB, and 1394 walk-up ports. The demo is shown with a variety of devices including HDD's and removable storage devices.
