Automotive USB charge
Overview
Automotive universal serial bus (USB) charge, like the rest of the automotive industry, is constantly adapting to the fast-paced influence of the personal electronics market. We provide innovative reference designs and complementary integrated circuits (ICs) for media interfaces to connect external or internal media to a vehicle infotainment system, streamlining the design cycle and reducing time-to-market.
Design requirements:
Automotive USB charge designs require:
- Compatibility to smartphone interfaces that support the connected vehicle ecosystem and ports that support charge and data capabilities.
- Signal integrity preserved across various cable lengths in automotive environments for USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 standards.
- Devices with the ability to utilize high-power USB power delivery (PD).
- Space efficiency to cope with increasing design complexity.
