Application overview
Traditional hands-free access solutions based on capacitive or 24GHz radar technology have issues consistently detecting kicks, and can often be prone to false detections. TI’s high-resolution radar sensing solutions leverage Edge AI to improve detection accuracy while still rejecting random movements and other objects.
Powered by our low power, cost optimized AWRL1432 radar, engineers can easily enable hands-free features to the next generation of automobiles.
Starting evaluation
Data collection
Capture accurate radar data with the AWRL1432 device, enabling full AI processing done completely on the edge through the integrated M4F MCU and HWA.
Data quality assessment
Our radar sensors support a wide range of output features, including point clouds, doppler, range, angle information, and more. For kick-to-open applications, the doppler feature can show the motion of a leg forward and backward.
Customers can get started immediately using the radar toolbox with the KTO users guide. Get started by running the demo software with pre-trained models, and collect data to train a new model.
Build and train your model
Radar data is collected using TI's capture tools and labelled using standard machine learning workflows. The model is trained using a simple ANN.
Users can select which features they want to use in the model, the number of radar data frames to consider as input into the model, and even augment data to create larger, more robust datasets.
Deploying your model
Once trained and validated, CCStudio™ Edge AI Studio provides an end-to-end workflow for deploying trained models directly to our radar devices without any other systems needed.
