Overview

The BQ25616EVM evaluation module (EVM) is a fully assembled and tested circuit for evaluating the BQ25616 device. The BQ25616 is a standalone 3-A single-cell battery charger optimized for low portable designs. It also includes USB BC1.2 input current limit detection and OTG reverse synchronous boost operation. The standalone control includes the input current limit, the charge current, and the charge voltage regulation.

  • Supports 3.9-V to 13.5-V input voltage range with 22-V absolute maximum input voltage (VBUS) rating
  • 92% charge efficiency at 2 A from 5-V input and 92% boost efficiency at 1-A output
  • Output short circuit protection and soft-start up to 500-uF capacitive load in OTG mode
  • 10-uA low battery leakge current with system voltage standby
  • 130nS fast turn-off of optional external OVPFET standing input voltage up to 30 V
  • USB BC1.2 and non-standard adapter detection
