Overview

The BQ79600EVM is an evaluation module (EVM) for the BQ79600-Q1 device used as bridge IC to interface between a microcontroller (MCU) and the TI battery monitoring ICs (for example, BQ7961X-Q1 and BQ79606A-Q1). The information from the MCU is translated by the device to pulses recognized by TI's battery management daisy chain protocol and transmitted out. The device has an Auto Host Wakeup function that can be utilized with BQ7961X-Q1 family to automatically wakeup the host through INH pin when an unmasked fault is detected in the battery monitoring ICs.

Features
  • UART/SPI host interface
  • Isolated differential daisy chain interface
  • Supports supply from 4.74 V to 40 V
  • Automatic wake up of BMS/BMU system when fault is detected in ring architecture
  • ASIL-D communication
