Overview

The EV2500 evaluation module (EVM) interface board enables a PC running Microsoft Windows with compatible human interface device (HID) driver to communicate with TI SMBus and I2C interface gas gauges via a Universal serial bus Type-C™ (USB-C) port. SPI and UART functionality will be provided in a future firmware update. In addition to this board, PC software is required to interpret the gas gauge data to complete the evaluation system.

  • Complete interface between the USB and SMBus/I2C interfaces using a simple API
  • Allows for full voltage translation for devices using 1.2V to 5V
  • Allows for 1MHz I2C and SMBus communication
