Overview

The smaller EVM version shows the customer the space required for their design. This circuit provides an isolated, 20 Mbps, 3.3V to 5V RS-485 interface using the ISO3086T isolated RS-485 transceiver and the TPS76350 high accuracy linear regulator. This circuit achieves signal and power isolation and at the same time decrease board space and power consumption.

    - 11KV HBM between bus pins and GND2
    - 6KV HBM between bus pins and GND1
  • 1/8 Unit load - Up to 256 nodes on a bus
  • Designed for RS-485 and RS-422 applications
  • Signaling rates up to 20 Mbps
  • Thermal shutdown protection
  • Low bus capacitance 7 pF (typ)
  • 50KV/us typical transient immunity
  • UL 1577, IEC 60747-5-2 (VDE 0884, Rev. 2) approvals pending
  • Fail-safe receiver for bus open, short or idle
  • Logic inputs are 5V tolerant
  • Signal isolators with integrated power
