Description
This non-isolated buck converter provides a fixed output of 12V at 400mA for BMS applications. It operates over an input voltage range of 50Vdc – 150Vdc after a startup greater than 40V. Operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM), this converter utilizes the UCC28730 controller, which is referenced to the switch node. It offers high efficiency and low cost in a compact form factor.
Features
- Unique floating controller ground reference allows operation at high input voltage (150-V)
- Achieves an efficiency of between 84% - 87% (50-V to 150V input, 400-mA output)
- Low component count and small size
- Utilizes a single standard inductor (no transformer required)
