Class 4, Cost-optimized, Flyback Converter Reference Design for PoE Applications

This reference evaluation module, featuring the TPS23754 PoE interface and DC-to-DC controller is used for class 4 PoE applications.

The flyback topology with diode rectification results in a low-cost converter for PoE applications such as a security camera. With the appropriate BOM changes, PMP6812 can also operate as a 13W supply.

  • Isolated non-synchronous flyback
  • 12V at 1.8A output
  • Good efficiency (84%) at low cost
  • Uses TPS23754 high-power, high-efficiency PoE interface PD and PWM controller
  • The circuit design is full-functional tested and recommended for new designs.
