Overview

This reference design provides a 500kbps 5V RS-485 interface using the SN65HVD22 extended common-mode RS-485 transceiver.   The extended -20 V to 25 V Common-Mode Voltage Range, more than double the TIA/EIA-485 requirement, providing robust signal integrity and enabling use in long cable networks

  • Wide common-mode range (-20V to 25V) enables use in long cable networks
  • More than 100mV receiver hysteresis - highly reliable in harsh environments
  • Low standby current: 1uA max
  • Failsafe receiver for open circuit, short circuit, and idle-bus conditions
