Description
This reference design provides reinforced isolated positive and negative voltage rails required for Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) gate drivers from a single 24-volt DC input supply. Utilizing a flyback isolated control topology, this reference design provides isolation compliant to IEC61800-5, and generates power rails for all three arms of the 3-phase inverter from a single transformer. The output power is currently set at 2W/IGBT but can be scaled up for higher power IGBTs by changing the transformer design.

- Isolated power supply supporting 6 IGBT gate drivers for 3 arms of inverter (Each arm in Half-Bridge Configuration)
- Operates with pre-regulated 24V
- Two reinforced, low-ripple (<200mV) outputs for each IGBT driver: +16V (x2) & -8V (x2)
- Output power: 2W per IGBT and scalable to support higher power IGBTs
- Output capacitors rated to support up to 6A peak gate drive current
- Option to shut down the power supply to facilitate Safe Torque Off (STO) feature
- Designed to comply with IEC61800-5
