3D TOF robotics: obstacle detection, collision avoidance and navigation

00:03:47 | 13 SEP 2016
In this video, learn how 3D Time-of-Flight sensors enable two different robots to “see” and move around without collision. We start with a vacuum robot equipped with simple algorithms and a depth image from the 3D Time-of-Flight sensor determining when to slow down, stop, turn, and how to maneuver around obstacles without collision. Then, the video demonstrates a home robot able to map an enviornment and plan a path while equipped with the same sensor and advanced algorithms.
