Hardening a meter against magnetic tamper attacks: Isolated shunt sensing building blocks

00:06:00 | 12 APR 2017

One method to deal with magnetic tampering is to try to harden the system against magnetic tamper attacks using shunt current sensors. For single-phase systems, this is easy to do. However, for poly-phase systems, it is necessary to isolate the shunts. This training module provides details on how isolated shunt current sensing could be implemented using an AMC1304 isolated delta sigma modulator and a MSP430F67641 metrology microcontroller.
