Getting started with our monitoring and protection IC for high-cell-count batteries

00:25:08 | 17 OCT 2023

This presentation reviews TI's current monitoring and protection ICs (the BQ769x0 family) in the context of a growing device portfolio (the BQ40z80 for five- to seven-series batteries). We will detail the most common design issues, such as system architecture, cell balancing, FET drives and high- vs. low-side switching.  The bq76920, bq76930 and bq76940 family members cover 3S to 15S implementations.
