Next-generation switches and routers are using lower operating voltages in their systems; creating the need for voltage translation to solve voltage mismatches. The new SN74AXCxT family is a great solution for 0.65V to 3.6V voltage translation, and is widely popular for the communications market. For systems needs to communicate up to 5V, TI recommends using the SN74LVCxT family . Some system conditions may require bus-hold functionality.
