Achieving fast switchover for intelligent power delivery

00:02:06 | 14 MAR 2022

Redundant power is critical in systems that require uninterrupted sources of power and is becoming more prevalent as systems are required to be more and more robust. In this demo, four chess pieces atop platforms each represent different existing solutions for selecting and transitioning between two input power paths. These four platforms are held level by solenoids, each powered by a main and redundant power supply delivered to the solenoid via their respective power selection circuit. The main power supply is suddenly turned off. Once there is a loss of power, you can see in this video how each power path behaves differently.
