Mode Transitions

When the device is transitioning between modes the device needs the time, tMODE_CHANGE, to allow the change to fully propagate from the EN pin through the device into the new state.

Note:

When using the SN65HVDA100-Q1 in systems which are not controlled through the INH output, but rather are monitoring the RXD pin for a wake-up request, special care should be taken during the mode transitions. The output of the RXD pin is indeterminate for the transition period between states as the receivers are switched. The application software should not look for an edge on the RXD pin indicating a wake-up request until tMODE_CHANGE. This is shown in Figure 7-3.
