TMCS Isolated Current-Sense Amplifier

The TMCS devices are isolated current-sense amplifiers. The TMCS-A-ADAPTER-EVM board can be populated with any TMCS device that uses the DVG, DVF, or DZP packages. This enables users to test all possible variants of the devices to determine the best device for a given application.

  • A magnetic field is generated based on the load current that is connected across the inputs IN+ and IN-, and flows through the TMCS device leadframe.
  • The device pinout, output voltage swing limitation, and required load current sensing range are the key factors when determining device selection.
  • The selected device must allow the output voltage to remain within the output swing range after the load current is transduced and amplified by the respective device sensitivity. The input current must remain within the measurement range for the selected device.
  • Choose an appropriate sensitivity to create the largest appropriate output swing and minimize error.
