TI offers comprehensive solutions for Streaming Media Over-the-top (OTT) digital Set-to Box (STB). This TI system block diagram for Streaming Media STB provides solutions for IPTV (Internet Protocol television) Set Top Boxes and their advanced remote controls. TI provides solutions for the design of the STB core subsystems including:

  • Power management - TI provides highly efficient solutions for both offline AC/DC for adapters and DC/DC for SoC point-of-load power including ultra-low power DCDC converters, LDOs, voltage supervisors and power switches allowing designers to optimize power savings schemes, reduce size and cost, and minimize stand-by power.
  • Wired and Wireless Interface - TI provides ultra-low power, highly integrated Connected MCU+ RF solutions for BLE 5.0, 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi and Zigbee RF4CE wireless interfaces, all implemented on the same SDK platform; Audio DAC and Line Drivers for analog audio line or headphone outputs; compact 10/100Mbps and Gigabit Ethernet PHYs and USB 3.1 and USB Type-C hub, switch and transceiver solutions to cover the latest as well as legacy communication ports
  • Signal I/O Protection - TI provides robust solutions for ESD protection of I/O signals as well as current-limited switches for USB and HDMI power connections
  • Input & Output User Interface - Streaming STB systems often include multiple LEDS for activity and status indication. TI solutions provide LED drivers that can offload control of the LEDs from the main DTV SoC. New advances in remote controls implement capacitive touch and voice command control as well as HiFi headphone outputs for user convenience. TI provides integrated and ultra-low power analog and MCU solutions.
