The ultrasonic design center is a one stop resource to develop ultrasonic sensing applications using MSP430TM microcontrollers (MCUs). It includes tools, a graphical user interface (GUI), documentation, software libraries and application examples for developers to get started with water or gas flow measurement development. The ultrasonic design center GUI is a rapid development tool for configuring and customizing various parameters related to transducers, pipe size as well as analyzing and capturing waveforms.

The MSP430 MCU ultrasonic sensing solution (USS) software library (MSP-USSSWLIB_Water) helps configure the analog front end (AFE) in the MSP430FR604x family devices for ultrasonic captures and integrate with the application software to develop ultrasonic water flow meters. The library also takes advantage of the low-energy accelerator (LEA) module in MSP430FR604x MCU family to compute time of flight (TOF) measurements.

The MSP430 Gas Metering software library (MSP-USSSWLIB_Gas) provides the means to configure the internal analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in the MSP430FR6043 MCU family for ultrasonic captures and helps integrate the application software for development of ultrasonic gas flow meter applications. The library also takes advantage of the low-energy accelerator (LEA) module in MSP430FR6043 devices to compute time of flight (TOF) measurements.
