Cookie policy

This cookie policy (“Cookie Policy”) is part of the Texas Instruments (TI) Privacy Policy. It explains how TI uses cookies and other tracking technologies (such as pixels, tags, web beacons, clear GIFs, Internet Protocol address tracking and browser storage) (collectively “cookies”) on TI.com and other TI websites, online services, design and computing tools, blogs, mobile applications, and social computing environments (“sites”). 

1. Scope and content

This Cookie Policy is part of the Texas Instruments Incorporated, 12500 TI Boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75243, USA and its subsidiaries (together, “TI”, “we” or “our”) Privacy Policy. 

2. What are Cookies?

Cookies are typically small files downloaded onto your device (computer, phone, tablet, and similar devices) when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used by website owners to make their websites work or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information. We use cookies on sites, including first-party and third-party cookies. A “first-party cookie” is one set by the website owner. The word “party” refers to the domain that places and controls the cookie. For purposes of this Cookie Policy, the cookies placed on the sites by TI are first-party cookies. “Third party cookies” are set by third parties and enable third party features or functionality to be provided on or through sites (e.g., advertising, videos, and website analytics services). The parties that set these third-party cookies can recognize your device when it visits sites or other websites. 3. How Long do Cookies Last?

The length of time a cookie will stay on your device varies. TI sites use the following types of cookies:

  • “Session cookies” are deleted automatically at the end of your web browsing session when you close your browser, unless your browser is configured to persist your session.
  • “Permanent cookies” or “persistent cookies” are not deleted when your browser is closed and remain on your device until they either expire or are deleted.

4. How does TI use cookies?

TI sites use the following types of cookies:

  • Advertising & marketing cookies. These cookies enable interest-based advertising on TI sites and third-party websites using information you make available to us when you interact with our sites. Interest-based ads are displayed to you based on cookies linked to your online activities, such as viewing products on our sites. We may also share this information with third parties for these purposes. These cookies help us to tailor advertisements to better match your interests, manage the frequency with which you see an advertisement, and understand the effectiveness of our advertising. We also work with third party companies, such as web analytics companies, advertisers, or companies working on their behalf. These companies use cookie technologies to serve the ads that appear on TI or third-party websites directly to your browser, based in part on your online activity. These third parties employ cookies to measure and improve the effectiveness of advertisements for their clients, including us. To do so, these companies may use information about your visits to our sites and other websites. This information can also be used for online preference marketing purposes, including providing relevant advertisements about products and services of interest to you. The information practices of these advertisers and third-party websites would be covered by their policies.   • Analytics & performance cookies. These cookies, including cookies from Google Analytics, allow us to recognize and count the number of visitors on TI sites, monitor site usage and see how visitors navigate our sites, and help us analyze web traffic in general. This helps us improve the way TI sites work (e.g., by making it easier for you to find information on the site), conduct research and diagnostics, and improve TI’s content, products, and services.
  • Functional cookies. These cookies deliver enhanced functionality, including a more personalized and relevant experience on our sites by identifying who you are and storing your activity. The purposes of these functional cookies include to remember you when you return to our sites; tailor content to your preferences, interests, or geographic region, display personalized browsing history, deliver personalized or customized content on our sites and third party websites, and track activity, downloads, and page views. If you do not allow these cookies, some or all site features and services may not function properly.
  • Social media cookies. These cookies allow identification of users and content connected to online social media, such as Facebook, X, and other social media platforms, and help TI to improve its social media outreach.
  • Strictly necessary cookies. These cookies are necessary for the operation of TI sites or to fulfill your requests (e.g., to track what items you have placed into your cart on TI.com, to identify and authenticate you when you sign-in and/or request to access secure areas of the TI site, or to manage and keep track of your configured cookie preferences or other specified preferences or choices). We may also use strictly necessary cookies in interactions where you request something from TI such as literature, software, technical support, seminar registrations, and/or when you participate in a survey.

Some cookies may fall into more than one category and serve multiple purposes.

5. How to Control Cookies

  • TI’s Cookie Preference Center: You can control how TI uses cookies on its sites, and decide which types of cookies to accept or decline, by using our Cookie Preferences Center. Deselecting specific categories of cookies tells TI and relevant third parties not to drop or place such cookies on your device, and to prevent related third-party tools from loading when you visit our sites. The cookie preferences center operates using a “strictly necessary” cookie, and the opt-in and opt-out choices you make using the tool will therefore only be effective on the device and browser you used to make your choices. Because cookies allow you to take advantage of many of TI’s online features, consider leaving them turned on. For example, if you disable cookies, you may not be able to view personalized content or browsing history on an activity bar on TI sites. You can change your cookie settings at any time, and adjust your opt-in and opt-out choices, by using our Cookie Preferences Center.
  • Further cookie controls: You can further control or delete cookies via your internet browser settings. The “Help” feature on most browsers will explain how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. If you disable cookies, you may still see ads, even if they are not driven or personalized using cookies.
  • Another option for cookie control is a browser plug-in, which is a piece of software that can enable additional capabilities to your browser. Where required, we honor requests to opt out of disclosures of information through certain third-party tracking technologies submitted via privacy preference signals recognized under applicable law, such as the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”). 6. Privacy

TI is committed to privacy. While our cookies do not store any identifiers that allow us to directly identify you, there may be scenarios where the information stored by our cookies can be attributed to your person. Where required under applicable laws for the processing of your Personal Data related to cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will obtain your prior consent.
