Power Supply Recommendations

The TPSF12C1 AEF IC operates over a wide supply voltage range of 8 V to 16 V (typically 12 V) and is referenced to chassis ground of the system. The characteristics of this VDD bias supply must be compatible with the Absolute Maximum Ratings and Recommended Operating Conditions in this data sheet. In addition, the VDD supply must be capable of delivering the required supply current to the loaded AEF circuit.

The supply rail can already be present in the system or can be derived using a low-cost solution with an auxiliary winding from an isolated flyback regulator. Connect a ceramic capacitor of at least 1 µF close to the VDD and IGND pins of the TPSF12C1. Ensure that the ripple voltage at VDD is less than 20 mV peak-to-peak to avoid low-frequency noise amplification.
