Fault Output (NFAULT pin)

NFAULT pin is an active low fault indicator that, in the event of a fault, will pull low to signal to the host that a fault has occurred. nFAULT is an open drain active low pin, and therefore it needs to be pulled up to VIO with a 100 KΩ resistor. Connect nFAULT to a GPIO on the host MCU. If not used, connect to GND. See Figure 1-3 with recommended NFAULT connection.
