MCT8316Z Overview

The MCT8316Z is an integrated three-phase gate driver IC with sensored trapezoidal control for motor drive applications. The device provides three integrated half-bridges and a sensored trapezoidal algorithm capable of directly driving a 3-phase brushless-DC motor. The algorithm is included in the IC, therefore there is no need to create your own commutation algorithm to spin a BLDC motor. The MCT8316Z simply takes the inputs of the Hall-effect sensors and uses them to drive the motor appropriately.
